“I would like to invite all to come and join in. A chance for me to meet those I haven’t and for you to learn how simple changes can keep you safe. I’m a big fan of FREE and this class is, so feel free to stop by. Can’t wait to meet everyone from this fantastic neighborhood!”

Officer Josh Caprio - Neighborhood Police Officer Hospital DistrictWomen don’t ask for, invite, or deserve to be assaulted.  Men and women can sometimes exercise poor judgment or become complacent about good safety precautions.  Victims are not responsible for the attack.  Attackers are responsible for their actions and their use of violence to overpower, control and abuse others.  But everyone can learn to be more vigilant for their own personal safety and the safety of other family members.

This women’s safety course will teach how to keep yourself as safe as possible in many situations by making the correct choices, being aware of surroundings and thinking ahead.  Officer Caprio will give practical examples of different types of situations you might find yourself in, whether it be finding yourself stranded with a broken down car or choosing to use an elevator or stairs
